Phone masts stopped

Plans to put three mobile phone masts up in residential areas of Burbage have been stopped. The applications for phone masts on Hinckley Road, Rugby Road and Three Pots Road in Burbage were unanimously rejected at last night's meeting of Hinckley and Bosworth Council's planning committee. Hundreds of residents in Burbage signed a petition, organised by Liberal Democrat Cllr Stuart Bray, opposing the phone mast plans Cllr Bray said "I'm glad the planning committee have listened to the concerns of local people and stopped these inappropriate masts. "Everyone knows we need phone masts, however they should be sited in industrial areas, not in the middle of residential areas as these masts would have gone."
