Campaigners opposing plans to put a composting site near two local villages have welcomed news that Council officers are opposing the plans. Planning Officers at Leicestershire County Council are recommending that county councillors oppose plans for a composting site between Fenny Drayton and Higham on the Hill when the council's planning committee debates the plans next Thursday. Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrat councillors Bill Crooks and Michael Mullaney, who spearheaded the campaign against the composting sight, have welcomed the news.
