Michael Mullaney the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Bosworth and Executive Member for Council Housing on Lib Dem run Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council took to the stage of the Party's national conference at the weekend to set out the achievements in Hinckley and Bosworth. Michael Mullaney said "I'm delighted that Hinckley and Bosworth were one of the first Council's to pay all our directly employed workers at least the Living Wage. In addition to this we have also managed to freeze Council Tax for five years in a row, meaning we have the lowest Council Tax in Leicestershire and one of the top ten lowest in Britain. And done this without any cuts to frontline services or compulsory redundancies. "In addition we have seen thousands of jobs come to our area through the Enterprise Zone at MIRA on the A5 near Hinckley and we are seeing a major regeneration of Hinckley town centre with a new cinema, shops and restaurants which will bring many jobs to the area."
