Today, Leader of the Liberal Democrats at Leicestershire County Council, Cllr Michael Mullaney, gave his reaction to the resignation of Reform's County Council Leader Dan Harrison.

Speaking to BBC East Midlands Today, Michael stated "County Councils provide really important services and having this chaotic change of leadership does not help residents and that's the most important thing.

“Whatever happens I hope we can have some sort of stable leadership and a Council leadership that listens to everybody on the Council and all points of view”

“The County Council is responsible for providing social care, highways and special educational needs. These are the things that are important to local residents”.

As the cost of living continues to increase in Leicestershire caused by a war supported by Reform and the Conservatives, this political chaos at the Council demonstrates yet again that the Liberal Democrats are the only party focusing on what matters most - delivering for and representing the ordinary residents of Leicestershire who deserve better than this.
