Fury as MP asks Prime Minister about homeopathy instead of massive cuts to local NHS

Last week it was revealed that the West Leicestershire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, which covers Hinckley and Bosworth would be faced with making £20million of savings making cutbacks to local NHS services very likely. Instead of raising this with the Prime Minister however, David Tredinnick instead raised the issue of homeopathy in the NHS.

Reacting to this Councillor Michael Mullaney Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Hinckley and Bosworth said "Being called in Prime Ministers Questions is a golden opportunity to raise with the Prime Minister the key issues in your local area. This was the chance for Mr Tredinnick to raise the problems our local NHS faces. Instead of that he instead raises his old hobby horse of homeopathy.

"This is yet another example of our MP letting our area down. Our large and growing population around Hinckley face losing the Mount Road Hospital in Hinckley, without any replacement facility like a Walk-in Centre being offered. And we now face £20million of savings to our local NHS which will likely see even more NHS services lost."

Michael Mullaney continued "Today Mr Tredinnick had a chance to speak up for Hinckley and Bosworth's NHS, yet again he blew it. He is not doing much good for our area. It's time he stood down as MP and let someone else take over who will fight for the people of Hinckley and Bosworth and their essential NHS services."
