Elmlea (Ashby Road) Development Appeal

Elmlea on Ashby Road, Hinckley could still be demolished - despite Liberal Democrat councillors opposing the redevelopment. It is reported that the current owner is planning to go to Planning Appeal and it is possible the development for 31 flats could still go ahead.
Liberal Democrats are opposed to the loss of this historic house. Hinckley Civic Society has also expressed their strong concern about the loss of this important 'gateway' building. Parking and traffic problems in the area will only get worse with an apartment development on this scale.
