Cllr Michael Mullaney slams unacceptable Government changes to planning rules

At a recent meeting of Leicestershire County Council, Cllr Michael Mullaney spoke out against changes by the Government to planning rules.

The changes by the Government will reduce the powers of councillors to object to inappropriate developments. Cllr Mullaney objected to these plans at the meeting.

This Government and the last Conservative Government have demanded Hinckley and Bosworth takes thousands of extra new houses. At the same time these Government's provided Hinckley and Bosworth with amongst the lowest funding in the country for public services including emergency services, health, education and roads.

It is a totally unfair situation and Cllr Mullaney and the Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrat team demand change. You can see Cllr Mullaney's full statement in the video below.
